Donald Mannis was an associate of Russell Ganz and the man who attacked Violet Young’s ex-boyfriend.
He was trying to find her and tie up loose ends by killing her, under orders from Ganz.
He shot at her while Ryan and Esposito were with her, but she survived, in large part thanks to the ringing phone in his pocket which distracted him and warned them. Mannis was then shot by Esposito. He was later arrested.
