Eddie McUsic, who is the brother of Joe McUsic, appears in "Law & Murder", and is addressed as "Mr. McUsic" by Beckett fairly early in the episode.
It transpires that Eddie is rather less of an upstanding citizen than Joe, although it is only due to his testimony that his brother's murderer, Stephen Addison, is brought to justice.
Eddie had an off-the-books job at a watering hole in which the Addisons were silent partners, and Lyla Addison pressured Eddie into being her and her brother's chauffeur for a drug run. When they hit a pothole, the gun Stephen was recklessly holding went off and shot Lyla, killing her instantly. Stephen then threatened to pin his sister's accidental death on Eddie if he didn't help him cover it up. They put Lyla's body in the car trunk and left it in the ghetto, hoping the police would think it was a carjacking gone wrong, and threw Stephen's bloodied clothes in the trash.
However, Eddie couldn't bear the guilt and went to see Joe at his fundraiser, telling him everything. Joe decided to retrieve Lyla's body, but by the time he arrived, the police had arrested Otis Williams, who had taken the car for a joyride, unaware of its deceased contents.
Eddie's actions unintentionally led to his brother's murder; Joe retrieved the evidence proving Otis' innocence and attempted to call D.A. Lou Karnacki, sending over his findings, but the D.A. withheld the evidence to preserve the Addisons' support in his mayoral campaign. Joe then bribed his way onto the jury in Otis' trial to try and exonerate him, but Stephen recognized him and, having learned of Joe's medical condition from Eddie, slipped cyanide into his medication, causing him to die during the trial.
Eddie was later suspected of both murders when CSU re-examined Lyla's car and found his fingerprint on the seat lever. Interrogated by Castle and Beckett, he first denied any association with Lyla, then tried to keep his silence before cracking and admitting Stephen's involvement. However, Eddie was certain that no one would take the word of a "nobody" like himself against a rich boy with "million-dollar lawyers".
At the end of the episode, Eddie is facing indictment as an accessory to murder after the fact, although Captain Montgomery declares his intention to recommend leniency to the appropriate authority AKA probation with no jail time.
