Hayley Shipton is a very free-spirited independent investigator who used to be a cop for the Metropolitan Police Force and an insurance company security investigator who ends up working for Castle and his daughter Alexis at Castle's PI agency.

Season 8

Hayley's first appearance is in the first episode of season 8. She ambushes Castle, although later proves to be a very helpful ally. Hayley has a fairly unknown history and is shown to be quite rough around the edges.

She once worked for the MI6 British intelligence. Hayley is shown to be a very skilled fighter and very cunning, as well as strong and independent. She becomes close to Alexis during season 8, and the two share a sisterly bond. Castle once commented that Hayley is a bad influence on Alexis.

Hayley is also wrapped up in Castle's missing time, confessing in the episode "The G.D.S." that she knew Castle long before he remembered.
