René Echevarria is a Cuban-American screenwriter and film producer, and a writer for Castle.
He began his career as an amateur screenwriter submitting unsolicited scripts to the producers of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
After using a few of his stories, they hired him as a writer. He then became a regular contributor to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Echevarria has written for the TV series Now and Again, Dark Angel and Medium, and was co-creator and writer of The 4400. He was a contributing writer to the science fiction series Terra Nova. He is currently an executive producer on Teen Wolf.
