Shea, a young member of The Westies, is apparently the first name across Brian Reilly's mind when he learns of his son, Glitch's, death in "Headhunters".
Shea is saved from a severe beating or worse by the timely arrival of Detective Ethan Slaughter and Richard Castle, although he gives the latter a bloody nose while trying to make good his escape. Castle suggests Slaughter uses the interrogation room at the 12th Precinct, which ruffles feathers with Beckett and company. Luckily, they cannot see what goes on inside, since Slaughter employs a number of illegal techniques, including hitting the suspect, to get his tale out of Shea.
Shea had previously been friends, or at least run, with Glitch, but had recently cut him off, leading Brian to suspect he might have had reason to kill him. Shea, however, explains that it wasn't his choice - Finn Rourke, the head of the Westies, gave orders for Glitch to be frozen out after he bungled a medical equipment heist. Shea believes, and later evidence supports him, that Glitch would have been long dead if Finn didn't think his father would avenge him.
Trivia[]
- Although Shea is of Irish descent, Stefan Niemczyk (the actor who plays Shea) is of Polish descent in real life.
